Andy Wardale Cello Teacher

Learning the cello is a rewarding endeavour, whether you're an experienced cellist or just starting out, there's always something to learn and explore on this beautiful instrument. Andy specialises in teaching both experienced pupils-adults who played in their earlier years and those who have always wanted to play and who now have a bit more time.

Andy emphasises the need for proper posture and will focus on solid technique and tuning (intonation),through scales and studies, as well as musicality through learning pieces (in itself a great motivator). An understanding of basic theory is of course incorporated into the lessons. Regular practise, slow and fast, is key to consistent improvement.

When he considers a pupil ready, Andy will offer them a chance to join one of his cello groups. These groups are perfect for playing with like-minded people (Chamber Music),in a no-pressure environment and are a great way of advancing technique and performance skills in the pupil.
